Part 1: [3 points] What is the mode of the data? Part 2: [3 points] Which stem has the least dollar value in the plot? Part 3: [4 points] In the stem-and-leaf, what does the stem 14 represent?

Please help! I really don't get stem and leaf plots.. I will love you forever!!

Stem and leaf plotting is a simple combining of "like" numbers. For example, if you had a series of numbers {10 12 15 21 25 29 35 39 36} you would group all of the numbers with a '1' in the 10s column, a '2' in the 10s column and a '3' in the 10s column as the stem. 1 2 3 Then you build the leaf off of them. For example, 1 has 10, 12, and 15 to give a 0, 2, 5, , 2 has 21, 25, 29, to give 1, 5, 9, and 3, has 35, 36, and 39, which gives you a 5, 6, and 9 leaf. 1 | 0 2 5 2 | 1 5 9 3 | 5 6 9 In your example you could produce a stem of 1, giving you a leaf set of 10, 13, 24, 32, 33, 40, 43, and 47 but how much information would that really give you? Instead I would suggest you build your stem with the next level down, the tens column..
