Data analysis is all about asking questions.

In this case, you might ask whether the phosphate that moved into the mycorrhizal roots differed from the amount that moved into non-mycorrhizal roots. You could also ask if more or less phosphate moved into the roots that were treated for longer.

And then to answer those questions you compare the numbers.
