how to writa two step equation with no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

well, let's start from a statement that makes no sense.

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

How about, 3=-1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Then, add how ever many x's you want to both sides (or subtract)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so would this work x=0.8x + 72

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

No...

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

3=-1 -> add or subtract the same amount of x 0.8x+3=-1+0.8x that is a two step with no solution.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o ok so there has to be a problem on both sides of the = sign
