if you double a recipe that requires 1 1/2 cups of lour, how much flour will you need? how about triple?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one easy way of doing this would be to convert your 1 into halfs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[1=\frac{?}{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 = 2/2, so you add 2/2 to 1/2 and get 3/2. Then you multiply this with 2 and get 6/2 if you want to double the recipe, and 3 if you want to triple and so on..

simplify it back to cups at the end
