The results of a coin toss are shown. What is P(heads)? HTHHHTHTTHHTHTT THHTHTTHHHHTHTT

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Count the number of heads total (that are shown). Call this count m. Count the number of tosses total. Call this count n. The probability will then be m/n. Make sure you reduce the fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

H = 16 T = 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you mean what is the probability of tossing the coin again and having it land heads?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

theoretical probability of getting Heads is always 1/2 based on this sample, the experimental probability is 16/30 = 8/15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 8/15 is the answer?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i guess so
