Do specific moderators handle specific tasks? Also, what's the distinction between an ambassador, a group moderator, a site moderator, and any other "rank" there is in OS?

So there are
*Administrators who are also moderators:
Admins actually work for OpenStudy so they have other jobs other than moding the site.
One of the jobs that Colm aka @cshalvey has Community Manager.
There are other admins that have other duties like:
Shadowfiend,farmdawgnation,mattfeury are the people who code the site.
You can call them the hamsters of the site. (lol)
Darthsid does the design stuff of the site.
There also also other admins but there jobs are mostly off site like chris, preetha, and ashwinram, and sandra.
There are also other people who work for OpenStudy that I did not mention.
*Global moderators
They do not work for OpenStudy. They are chosen by the OS team to help moderate the site.

*Group moderators
So far the only group I know of that has group moderators is the Music Group.
They can kick and delete. I think that is it.
* Ambassadors
I think these people greet people when they come onto the site.
*Global-Interns
I think these people try to get people offsite interested in coming on the site.

Note:
You can spot an Admin/Global moderator if they are in purple and it says moderator next to the name.
Group moderators are only purple in their group. And I think it does not say moderator next to their name.
Ambassadors have an A next to their name.
Global Interns have global intern spelled out next to their name.

But yes all of these people pretty much help moderate the site even the global interns and ambassadors. I seen these people inform others of the Code of Conduct.

Some other people I did not mention are msayer3 and heisenberg. I think they are part of the QA part of the OS team. Not sure.

I find it funny that she is the only moderator answering when ANY one of the moderators could. You @FoolForMath posed a question rather than an answer. It's that simple. @myininaya has done so much work and no Fool, I do not expect to be ignored. However, I do not expect one person to do that much typing either.

The Music group was recently created due to user demand and consequently is in a bit of a trial period. The problem with making official groups is that we only have so few moderators who can ensure people stay on-topic. So we wanted to try Music since there was such demand, but not put any additional burden on our moderators, hence the appointing of group-specific mods. There are a few other group-specific mods, but those groups did not take off as well as Music has.
