we know: BC=AD, AB=CD, angles 2+3=180 deg, angles 1+4=180 deg
so thats why they are congruent?
AC must equal itself. Therefore the triangles ABC=ADC.

Because all sides are equal. That proves angles 4=2 The same can be done with triangles DAB=DCB or you can use supplementary angles to prove angles 1=3
Each individual side has an equal. (not equilateral triangle, sorry if this was confusing)
