how do you write an outline for a UFO project?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By "project," do you mean an essay? Here is a simple, 5-paragraph outline: 1. Introduction. Thesis, and your three key points should be here. 2. Discuss key point 1. 3. Discuss key point 2. 4. Discuss key point 3. 5. Conclusion. Thesis, and a reminder of the three points. This is summary. No NEW information should go here.

no we have to make a visual and present for 3-5 min and make a prezi and stuff

I. Introduction: Have you ever met Mr. Mike? A. Background: Mr. Mike is always in our class. Then one day, he doesn’t show up. It’s theorized that Mr. Mike is in the fetal position in the bathroom, crying because Girlfriend #4 broke up with him. B. Thesis: The Mr. Mike Conspiracy Theory is FALSE because of a lack of evidence. II: Why do some people believe this theory? A. Mr. Mike is very emotional. 1. He often cries when he has to give a student a detention. 2. Mr. Mike watches Old Yeller three times a week and cries for hours. B. There has been evidence 1. Several students have noted a strange weeping sound coming from the 3rd stall down in the Women’s Room. 2. Mr. Mike’s Girlfriend #5 was seen excited because she’s moved up in the rankings. III. The reasons this theory is false A. Mr. Mike is able to hide his emotions until he gets home. Usually. B. Mr. Mike has no heart, so he wouldn’t actually cry about anyone. IV. Conclusion It’s obvious that Mr. Mike is not really crying in the bathroom. The logical fallacy of Ad Hominem states that it’s not right to attack the demeanor of the person. Instead, you must attack their actions. I have no proof of his actions, so therefore, I must reject this conspiracy theory

example that my teacher put up on website

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i know what im doin rest of tonight

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! It's a speech! What is your main idea? The theory?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

UFOs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about them? What is it that you are trying to prove or disprove? Their existence? Their non-existence? Something else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"ufos arnt real cause they their pics are pixalated, stories about em have changed, and why would they go to earth out of millions of gallaxies" would be my thesis all fancied up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, so your theory could be UFO's exist. Your thesis would tell why you believe this is false. Then, can you come up with 3 reasons why others would believe that UFO's exist? Maybe one reason is that they have see things in the sky that they cannot explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, your thesis should be something like "The theory that UFO's exist is false due to a lack of proof." Then, you need 3 reasons why you believe it is false. This is where you go into detail about your reasons.

what would be a good intro

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k. what would be a good intro

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to outline, not speech

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any examples of a good hook question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to get you audience involved. Ask questions. How many of you know what a UFO is? ((wait for hands to raise)). How many of you think you have see one? ((again, wait for the show of hands)). **at this point, you have their attention... this is good... if you have a short story about your own experience, tell it here.**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In my experience, when giving a speech, you won't have to turn in a written portion. The outline is only to keep you organized.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not when im speeking, but just to put on outline. "How many of you know what a UFO is?"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gotta turn in outline though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup, just put it on the outline, so you don't forget it. Also, I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but make sure you memorize your speech. If you read it, it can become boring to your audience. If you use a Power Point, you won't even need not cards.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*note* cards.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we use somtin called prezi.its a litttle like powerpoint, look it up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! By "prezi," I thought you meant "presentation." LOL! Can you tell I've been out of school for a while?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya. btw nice spelling and grammer. guess thats wat i get when i go to the writing part of openstudy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. I hope I helped a little.
