In a lottery, a bettor randomly circles 4 digits from 0 through 9, without repetition. What is the probability that the bettor gets the winning numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be 0-9 then 0-8 then 0-7 then 0-6 10 * 9 * 8 * 7 am i on right track

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thats not giving me the probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, the bettor has 10*9*8*7 ways of circling the4 digits. Now, there is only 1 winning number (unless the question specified it.) So the probability is 1/(10*9*8*7) = 1/5040
