we should get community hours for this
I agree. I sent this idea to @cshalvey a while back... Haven't heard anything in response.
Interesting idea.
community hours?
Community Service...
lol I don't think this should count for community hours. There is no way to show that you weren't just on here chatting or wasting time.
what's the difference between just chatting and wasting time
lol I meant chatting/wasting time or working *whistle* And what did you do to get community service time anyway @luisrock2008 xD
I forsee this being difficult to coordinate, but your official response will have to come from the man, the legend, the @cshalvey himself.
Well, now that I've been properly introduced (cheers @farmdawgnation ) - we definitely looked into this issue when @MrBonez321 brought it up. The issue was that it depends on your particular institution and if they will recognize your participation on OpenStudy. So, we *do* have a form to give you if you wish to see if your institution will accept OpenStudy time as volunteer hours. Please email me at contact@openstudy.com and I can give you a letter (written by our own Dr. Preetha Ram) explaining what OpenStudy is, and showing how the work you do here should qualify as community service. Thanks for bringing this up again!
Very cool idea. At the moment, at least, I doubt that very many community service organizations would accept this, but it's cool that you can at least request them too. Has anyone used this as their hours yet? I'm curious about the details of how it would work. How you keep track of hours. How critical you are about whether the person is helping or socializing. That kind of thing.
now adays you do :P
