chris and becky are holding a wedding reception. There will be 12 circular tables. Each table has a diameter of 2m. Chris and Becky decide to put ribbon roundthe edge of each table. The ribbon costs £1.20 per mitre. Ribbon is sold in whole metre lengths. eg, Chris and Becky, could buy 5 or 6 metres but not 5.5 metres of ribbon. You can calculate the circumference of a circle using the formula: c= pi*d

Directrix (directrix):

Each table has circumference, C = pi d where d is 2. So, each table has cirumferences 2 pi. There are 12 tables. 12 time (2 pi) yiels 24 pi meters of ribbons needed for the table edges. 24 pi = 75.398 approx meters. 76 meters are required. At £1.20 per mitre, 76 times £1.20 = £ 91.2.
