Hi, is it possible to predict potential M&A activities in a particular sector in the near future?

according to my opinion when a sector or individual company perform more then expectations then M&A starts. When company grows more than it's competitors, it starts doing more M&A activity to create monopoly in the market. It started acquiring small firms to make it's firm stronger.
