What is an activity that can help you enhance the appearance of your computer’s desktop?

I dont know what you mean with an "activity" and thats not really a computer science-question but here are some tipps, how to get you computer clean and tidy:

1. Organize your folders - put everything in right-named folders, e.g.: work (subfolders can be projects you are working on), school (subfolders can be the subjects), media (subfolders: movies, music, games, ...), and so on
2. Never fill your desktop with useless files - make a folder just for downloads and put them alle there.
3. Store only shortcuts to programs or folders you often use on the desktop or in the startmenu.
4. Choose a smooth, relaxing wallpaper. Not screenshots or artworks from games or movies - thats just distracting and makes you restless.

There are also applications you can download like stardock and rainmeter. (Google them if you're interested).
They allow you to further customize your desktop, you download add-ons for the programs, all with different features.
