computer virus's are put on ur computer mainly from downloads.  They also can move around your computer and commonly hide from protection services like norton and mcafee in the system 32 file.

@Miss_Deva I dont think they evolve. Most viruses are either created of some sort or used to help fight it in the immune system.

Viruses do evolve - consider RNA viruses that have a high mutation rate and a short life cycle so they can change to evade host defences. This is it can be hard to create an effective vaccine against certain viruses. If you don't believe me look up viral evolution, which is a specialized branch of the study of evolution.
