The temperature of an oven went from 320° to 280°. What was the percent decrease in temperature? A.1.25% B.12.5% C.1.43% D.14.3%
320° to 280 320-280=40 40/320 x 100=?
(initial - final)/initial
take the difference between the two and then divide that answer by your original temperature. multiply by 100 to get answer.
@ZhangYan id didn't work ;/
Yeah it does. The initial temperature is 320. The final temperature is 280. Subtract 280 from 320, and divide the result by 320. Multiply this number by 100 to turn it into a percentage. Essentially what you're looking for is the change in temperature divided by the starting temperature, or, as I tend to put it, (initial - final)/initial
Or perhaps another way to put it, what fraction of the starting temperature does the change in temperature equal?
k thanks everyone
