How far have you traveled if you drive 5 1/2 hours at 59 mph? Round to the nearest mile. A. 300 miles B. 325 miles C. 350 miles D. 375 miles Formula please
So, do you know how to start this problem @Joshuam1 ?
@ZhangYan
No, I forgot the formula
v=dt velocity=distance*time
Thank you
What @inkyvoyd
Nevermind, @ZhangYan
Ok, well you asked this question here: http://openstudy.com/users/joshuam1#/updates/4fb3eef2e4b055653429c427 So basically this is the formula you need, you now have to solve for distance instead of time, right? So do you know how to start this problem now?
Yes
Another way to speak about it is that you travel x miles in 1 hour, then you travel 1x. If you keep going on for 5.5 hours, then 5.5x is the expression you get. x = 59, so substitute.
5 1/2 x 59
You get an answer that you'll have to round to the nearest whole.
Yes @Joshuam1
325
Yes!
Awesome, good work @Joshuam1 and @ParthKohli !
Do you know what is meant by "A body is travelling at a speed of 59 mph?"
Thank you cshalvey
And thank you ParhKohli
Thanks @cshalvey :D
