Cells of the bony tissue. Its cytoplasm has Golgi Apparatus and some lysosomes. Synthesize and re-absorb components of the bony matrix. They reside in lagoons of the bony matrix. Their nuclei are flattened. Although they may seem like inactive cells, they secrete substances that help to conservet the bone.
