I've been working on this for thirty minutes and I still can't get it.. Look at equation below!

\[\sum_{n=5}^{500}(4n-17)\]

this is just an arithmetic sequence where the first term is (4*5 - 17) and the difference between each term is 4.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

the number of terms is (500 - 5 + 1) = 496
