Find the equation of the parabola that opens up, has a vertex of (2,2), and is congruent to the parabola y= -16x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to shift the parabola left/right from origin, apply transformation to x. replace x with (x+A) to move up/down, apply transformation to end of equation. add B to right side.

So what would be a reasonably fast way to get the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be y= -16(x+2)-2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Original vertex is (0,0). new vertex is (2,2) the format is (x,y), although it doesn't matter in this case since they are the same. add 2 to the right side to shift it up 2. replace x with (x-2). I mistyped earlier it should have been (x-2)

Okay, gotcha. Thanks C:
