\[\sqrt{2x} - 5 = 3?\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
haha yes, i dont know how to solve for X
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
add 5 to both sides
Parth (parthkohli):
1) Add 5 to both sides.
2) Square both sides.
3) Solve for x.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(2x-5)^1/2=3
on squring both sides
2x-5=9
2x=9+5
2x=4
x=2

@shona1826 Check your answer, it's wrong :P
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
@ParthKohli you're one to say
OpenStudy (anonymous):
sorry guys.... its 7
x=7
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lol is it wrong ?

\(\Large \color{MidnightBlue}{\rightarrow \sqrt{2x} = 8 }\)
\(\Large \color{MidnightBlue}{\rightarrow 2x = 64 }\)

Parth (parthkohli):
It's not square root of whole 2x - 7
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
5 not 7
Parth (parthkohli):
Lol yes
Parth (parthkohli):
But I solved it correctly.
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
think so?

2x-5=9
2x=9+5
2x=14
