4(x+3)=36

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

divide both sides by 4 to get rid of 4 in the left side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Distribute and solve: 4x + 12 = 36 -12 4x = 36 /4 x = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distribute and divide is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would x=6

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@jazy forgot to subtract 12 from 36

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

if only you did what i said *facepalm* 4(x+3) = 36 divide by 4 x+ 3 = 9 x = 9 -3 x = 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whoops sorry! Distribute and solve: 4x + 12 = 36 -12 4x = 24 /4 x = 6 Thanks @lgbasallote :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a much faster way to solve lol:) I'll keep it in mind lgbasallote

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
