i think this is a bio question...i know *someone* who eats a lot but does not get fat...is there uhmm a condition/illness that causes this?? and how can this *person* gain more fats/lipids (i.e. what kind of food should he eat)
he does not get fat maybe because he has faster metabolism.. another theory: this might be something related to thyroid gland's production of hormones... to gain weight more, eat protein-rich foods.. this builds up more muscles, than fat.. muscles add to weight, remember?
no actaully in its stomach mostly food is eaten by tapeworms as we say more amount of tapeworms the person will be thin not get obese as it does not depend how much the person eats :)
and vice vesra for obese people as they dont eat much but the amount of tapeworm is less dut to which food does not get totoally eaten by tapewrom and food was used by the body to make fat and etc:)
he's a 5'6" weighing 106 lbs lol
that's underweight right?
yes, i think it is..i did not compute it though. anyway, what does he do in a regular basis?
yea.. is the above given information is abu u ??
idk *whistle* i also dont know what he does on regular basis...what do you mean?
maybe you're right that he eats much. but if he does heavy work, this burns a lot of calories...he should eat more than he does work to get some weight.
oh no he doesnt...he just lazes around openstudying
@heena Tapeworms aren't really a problem in developed countries... I know they're still pretty common in Africa and Asia, but in Western Europe or North America, you have to be really really unlucky and/or go on a tropical vacation to pick one up.
ohkayy well i said wat i read :P and my reason is not wrong though .. as u said its common in africa and asia and i belong from asia so i know this reason as most commonly seen here :)
getting fat doesn't only depends on quantity of food taken.... he/she is not getting fat . so there can be the following reasons.. (i) any kind of intestinal parasite , as said by heena.. (ii) he/she is unable to digest the food ingested.. (iii) assimilation is not taking place properly... (iv) any prob in liver... (v)GENES can also be responsible for ths.... might his parents didn't have the tendency to get fat.... (vi) all his carbohydrates are metabolised perfectly( fast metabolism)...
I would only like to add that Hyperthyriodism could be also be a cause, a balance in your body between HDL & (VDL &VLDL).
ya thats too.... thannks for the info @exuras.. :)
@rahulchatterjee Glad i could add something to the already well covered reasons/causes which you and a few other took the liberty of providing.
Oh, and according to recent research Gut flora has a major key role in it aswell. If that's where the reason behind obesity is, it's as simple as a broadspectrum antibiotic treatment. Once it's over just eat the excrement of one with the gut flora which doesn't allow obesity. I learned this while attending a lecture held by "Sahlgrenska Center for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research, CMR".
