Dr. Madness is very clever. He can solve just about any problem, but he does get tripped up by logic statements. For your first task, you must write a conditional statement to the mayor about your secret plan to defeat Dr. Madness. Then you must change your statement into three different "secret codes" and write the statement in those codes. Your three secret codes will be the inverse, converse, and contrapositive of the conditional. Be sure to identify which statement is which, so that the mayor can decode the message.
Look at an example: Statement (Conditional): If I use a Geo Blaster, then Dr. Madness will be defeated. Code #1 (Inverse): If I do not use a Geo Blaster, then Dr. Madness will not be defeated. Code #2 (Converse): If Dr. Madness is defeated, then I used a Geo Blaster. Code #3 (Contrapositive): If Dr. Madness is not defeated, then I did not use a Geo Blaster. I don't exactly get what they're asking
They are asking you to: 1) write a statement 2) write the converse of the statement 3) write the inverse of the statement 4) write the contrapositive of the statement.
ah k so Statement: IF we shoot Mr. Madness in the heart, then he will be defeated. Converse: He will be defeated, if we shoot Dr.Madness in the heart. Inverse: IF Mr. Madness is not shot in the heart, then he will not be defeated. Contropositive: IF Mr.Madness has not been defeated, then we have not shot him in the heart. Is this correct?
Looks ok to me.
Ok thank you very much sir.
That converse isn't quite right. The way you worded the converse, it's actually still just the statement. It's important that the if comes first, "If he is defeated, then we shot him in the heart."
