The front of a cereal box shows a picture of the prize inside. It's a temporary tattoo of a snake. The picture on the box shows the tattoo snake 10 centimeters long. If the actual tattoo inside the box is 4 centimeters long, what is the scale factor between the picture and the actual tattoo?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Picture shows the tattoo as 10 cm Actual tattoo is 4 cm long so the scale factor is \[\frac{10}{4}\] I think you can now simplify this

I still dont under stand it , what do you mean ?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Picture is 10 cm long and the actual snake is 4 cm so the tattoo is scaled by 10/4=2.5 times the actual for the picture
