Tia photocopied the image of a design for a monorail track system. The figure below shows the design and its photocopy.

the ratio of DA:CD is 2:3. the total length of track in the design is 46 meters. What is the length in meters of side EH ?

Directrix (directrix):

Assumption: Tia's photocopy is an exact replica of the original drawing. Assumption: Side EH corresponds to side AD. Statement: The creator of this problem wrote the problem poorly. --------- The perimeter of the original drawing is 46. 46 = 17 + 14 + DA + CD 15 = DA + CD But, DA/CD = 2/3 so DA = 2 times some number x while CD is 3 times that same number x. Therefore, DA = 2x and CD = 3x Going back to 15 = DA + CD 15 = 2x +3x 15 = 5x x = 3 and AD = 2*3 = 6. Assuming side EH corresponds to side AD, then EH = 6 because of corresponding sides of congruent figures being congruent.
