What is the domain & range of y=2 sqrt. x ?

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

domain and range is same as the square root function this function is only vertically stretched by a factor of two so therefore the domain and range is not affected :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:( my answer was D: all real #s R: all real #s But I think that is wrong...

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

ya it is because x cannot be negative, you can't square root a negative unless you want imaginary :/

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

so because the values of x cannot be negative then the y values cannot be negative either so that leaves you with a domain of [0,infinity) and a range of [0,infinity)
