What is the slope of the line x = –5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does not exist or undefined.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

the line x=-5, is all y's where x=-5. so basically it's a vertical line passing through x=-5. Like this:|dw:1337432737268:dw| so what would be the slope? what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(y=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\) \(x\) does not change so there is a zero in the denominator, therefore the slope does not exist.
