3√(x+4-2)=13

Parth (parthkohli):

1) Divide both sides by 3. 2) Square both sides. 3) Solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3\sqrt{(x+4)-2}=13\] is this your equation??? @timmy12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @traile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9(x+2)=169 9x+18=169 9x=151 x=151/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ParthKohli your steps why divide by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Square both sides. Solve for x.

Parth (parthkohli):

It is because it is 3 times the whole thing. You can isolate by dividing 3 from both sides.
