What is the equation of the line passing through (–3, 6) and parallel to the line y = 4x – 2 in standard form?

OpenStudy (anmolsingh):

since the lines are parallel , the slope of the line u want to find is the same as the slope of the parralel line, so u have to slope m=4... now use the slope intercept form y=mx+c and u'll get the y intercept c. Then again write the equation in slope intercept form without substiting the x and y value
