This is quadratic form

You can use the quadratic formula. If:\[y=ax^2+bx+c\] \[x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\] In this case: a=1 b=5 c=2 So: \[x=\frac{-5 \pm \sqrt{5^2-4*2}}{2}=\frac{5 \pm \sqrt{17}}{2}\] There are two answers for x. \[x=\frac{5+ \sqrt{17}}{2}\] \[x=\frac{5- \sqrt{17}}{2}\]
