Which term describes the process by which species adapt to their environment?
Natural selection. Those individuals with characteristics that give them any type of survival or reproductive advantage in their habitat will most probably produce more offspring, some or all of which will likely exhibit that same advantageous trait. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110223145910AA0m8CE
Natural Selection Source: I learnt it in my biology class!!!!!
its actually adaptation when a species adapt to their environment. when evolution occurs species inherit different traits according to how well the previous generation has adapted to their environment. if the previous generation adapted well, the trait passes on. then through natural selection, the offsprings that adapted well live longer and others die which is exactly what natural selection is according to the Darwinian Theory.
