2 questions: 1: How can we get some more members for the groups that we are studying? e.g. Biology has 27 members online, I have had my question there for a while now and there are 0 replies. 2: How come everyone has a picture of a bicycle?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

go to a group where the people actually are and post a link to your question in the chatbox and ask people to help if they can. noone can afford gas for cars anymore so they are trading in :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha maybe we should all get bicycle pictures then :) thanks for that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Having bicycles as profile pics is the new fashion of OS. Users who have bicycles as profile pics(as far as I know) ar @satellite73 , @lgbasallote and @ParthKohli

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha ok, weird trend lol

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@blues @Mimi_x3 and @Diyadiya (formerly) have bikes too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep seen them too but I do not understand what is so good about them?

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

lol, what's wrong with bikes? They are cool!

OpenStudy (nilankshi):

yaa..it look cool..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aahh look who's viewing this question, you guys are all bikes lol :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i think @SmoothMath pic can be called a bicycle too...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm now I'm gonna be confused who everyone is lol :)

OpenStudy (nilankshi):

yaa..all with bicyclle..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All people with bicycle profile pics are fans of @satellite73 (he started this trend, followed by @lgbasallote and @ParthKohli ).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm ok thanks you guys :)

Parth (parthkohli):

Apparently we are following our idol (@satellite73)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha ok :)

OpenStudy (blues):

Hi mmoul, as you have noted the pace in biology is slower than in math. We have eight to ten people in bio who consistently give good help. Quite a few of them have not been around much lately because it is exam season in the North Hemisphere and they are all buried under their own cares and concerns at the moment. It tends to be a slow group anyway where some people pop off quick answers for glory (sometimes right, often not - though I have lately started handing out warnings for that and it is having a noticeable effect on the "time till first answer" metric), then the group adds to it and discusses it over the course of a few hours or a day. Perhaps this inherent to the discipline itself rather than to the set up on OpenStudy. As for attracting more people to biology, I'm all for it. We are in desperate need of someone who actually likes ecology!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i would love to join bio...but alas im not high school anymore...im no longer that bio genius *ahem* i was before :C
