the method people generally rote to do these kind of questions is that in ax^2 + bx + c ,, we try to break b into m+n where mn = ac ..

its because we then have ax^2 + mx + nx + c ax(x + m/a ) + n(x+ c/n) since mn = ac ,, we see m/a = c/n thus we have the factorised form as (ax + n)(x+ m/a) or (ax + n)(x+ c/n)
