please give examples of constant, increasing and decreasing functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Constant is of the form y = c, where c is a constant. Examples would be y = pi, y = 2, x = 0, y = 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx and what about increasing and deceasing functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An example of an increasing function is the exponential function, of the form, where x is greater than 0. If it were to be decreasing, you would have a -1 being multiplied by that x-term. |dw:1337526988782:dw| Example of an increasing function: y = 3^(x) Example of a decreasing function: y = 3^(-x)

Note that a is a constant. So, in the examples above, I picked it to be 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when exponential along with + power it would be increasing and if negative than it means decreasing .. right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
