How do you make an actual fraction on the equation editor?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

frac{numerator}{denominator}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

frac{5}{7}

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you need a whole nother website for it ;)

sam (.sam.):

\[3 \over 2\] 3 \over 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{5}{7}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah why arent there quick buttons for this form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for your help everybody.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its quite essential for equations :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or are there

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the guy that programed the eq editor thought that we would never have a need for fractions; or hated them so much it turned into a freudian thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but left the backend? frac{}{} command?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the eq editor runs on latex coding, so as long as we got the right package, we can run the coding that is under it regardless of what the buttons indicate

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you can type it directly into the reply box if need be; i never use that editor for much of anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but frac{7}{5}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doesnt go

OpenStudy (amistre64):

when you hit insert form the eq editor, youll see the delimiters that surround the text itself otherwise it just parses as latex and you cant demonstrate it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

type \[ at the start, type the \frac{}{} stuff, then end with a hit to the \ and the ]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah I think they are pipeline chaars?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gonna make it alot easier to respond to questions now

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[\frac{top}{bottom}\]
