i dont know what to do |10x^4y^2|^3 over |-5x^3y^2|

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[\frac{(10x^4y^2)^3}{(-5x^3y^2)}\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Is that the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Do the power in the numerator first. What is 10^3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30

OpenStudy (mertsj):

10x10x10 is not 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30x

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What is 10 x10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is \[-200x^9y^4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

100

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Ok. Now xXDWEAHXx87 wants to explain it to you. Good bye and good luck.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o i will

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so 10 times 10 =100, times 10 =1000, now, x to the fourth times x to the fourth is x to the 8th, times x to the 4th is x to the 12th, then y squared times y squared is y to the 6th so u have \[1000x^12y^6 divided by -5x^3y^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whoops, its supposed to be x to the 12th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then 1000 divided by -5= -200 and x to the 12 divided by x to the 3 equals x to the 9 and y to the 6 divided by y to the 2 equals y to the 4 so it is \[-200x^9y^4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey can u tell me how i would add up \[(3x^3y)(3x^3y)(-4x^2y^4) (-4x^2y^4) (-4x^2y^4) \]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

That is a multiplication problem...not addition.
