Please tell me about the Moon revolution and rotation (direction and what is unique about it)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one thing I heard is that it spins in such a way that it only shows earth one side of the moon at all times.

Here's a one minute NASA video that shows a good animation of the moon around the earth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exIpL0Uhr_k At first I thought our moon's synchronous orbit was what made it unique (to our galaxy at least) but it appears that Saturn also has a moon that does this (Lapetus). I guess what really makes it unique is that moon/planet size ratio is highest for our moon...again, in our galaxy.
