if i understand the picture, the height of the rectangle is 10 and the base we can find by finding the missing side of that little triangle on the bottom

i am gong to go with 42, here is my reasoning

since points A and B are half way up and the total is 6, the sides of that triangle on the bottom are both 3. since it is a right triangle we can find the hypotenuse by pythagoras \[3^2+3^2=h^2\] \[18=h^2\] \[h=\sqrt{18}=4.24\] rounded since the height of the rectangle is ten, the answer is \[10\times 4.24=42.4\] but they have asked for "approximate area" so round to 42
