OpenStudy (anonymous):

what number musst you add to the polynomial below to complete the square? x^2-23x

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

take half of 23 and square it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it is 132.25 but that isn't the answer is it?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i believe it is \[(x-11.5)^{2} = x^{2}-23x +132.25\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank-you for the help!

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yep, just remember to take half of x coefficient and square it then add that to both sides :)
