Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" Trisha Yearwood's "She's In Love With The Boy" John Mayer's "Who Did You Think I Was" Peter, Paul & Mary's "Don't Laugh At Me" John Lennon's "Imagine" Brandy's "Never Say Never" Write a paragraph which explains the connection between the play and the song you have chosen. Are there similarities in any of the following? Characters of each Theme or main idea of each Situation or conflict in each
Oh, I had to do this. Which play are you doing?
i am not sure cant find the chooses
you in FLVS?
I think I picked Brayrics were easiest to relate back to the play. Yeah, flvs and aren't you doing romeo and juliet right now?
*Brandy's lyrics
just finished it
Okay, so that's the play you are supposed to be relating the lyrics to, correct? I'm trying to remember if you had to pick a play or there was only one for everyone
running behind in school so had to quickly go though it this site is a big help
this is the next module so i don't think i have to use romeo
Okay so basically if you are relating the lyrics to romeo and juliet Elvis's song would be an easy one or Imagine read the lyrics and then I'll hlep you it should be easy.
You read romeo and juliet right?
ok i will put the lyrics on here when i find them
i could not understand it :(
You don't have to, just pick which song's lyrics you think would be the easiest to relate to romeo and juliet. You could really do any of them, they're pretty straight forward and esily relatable
ok well i found them
Well it's kind of going to be hard to do the assignments if you didn't read the play but I could try and help you. I can't really do it for you though
yep
Okay, how about you do imagine? I think that'd be pretty easy, do you see any common themes or anything like that between the lyrics and play?
Okay, how about you do imagine? I think that'd be pretty easy, do you see any common themes or anything like that between the lyrics and play?
let me look
it talks about peace and that is what romeo was after
Okay think about it like if the song was true romeo and juliet would be able to live together happily and not have to deal with their parent's fight
ok
Oh yeah, you're right too.
lol
haha sorry I didn't see what you wrote. Okay so now just write a paragraph about the similarities between the play and lyrics
got any ideas to start it, not good at starting need a base to begin at
Okay, umm maybe somthing like "the biggest similarity between thelyrics to John Lennon's song, Image and the play, Romeo and Juliet is.."
I mean imagine
that will work thanks
okay, you don't need anymore hlep?
maybe for part B of it, like i said i am in a hurry to finish the class have 2 modules to go and want to finish this week
Okay, what's part B?
Write an original poem. Your goal is to continue connecting “Romeo and Juliet” with the song you chose for Part A of this assignment. Now you are going to be the songwriter, or poet, and create your own song or poem. Your original poem should continue to explore your thoughts on the similarities between “Romeo and Juliet” and the song you chose. If the characters of both were similar, you can create two more characters that have those similarities as well. If the main idea or theme was similar, your poem can have that same main idea or theme too. Your poem should be between 10-20 lines in length.
i can help with this one!!!..lol
Oh, that wasn't fun haha um basically there's no wrong way you can dothat becuase you r teacher can't really say oh you suck at writing poems haha just put some work into it
you are there i seen 3 viewers but no reply from you :)
but its true i do :)
But, your teacher can't actually say that to you so that's good. I just compared love to things like to bad things but then to good things to show the good outweighs the bad if that makes sense
it does
Okay, so don't do that exactly haha especially if you have Mrs. Pote as your teach
"Wise men say only fools rush in ..." Remember the people in Romeo and Juliet who advise them not to rush into their romance, saying it would be foolish? "But I can't help falling in love with you ..." Romeo and Juliet feel they have no control over their feelings; it's like they're being washed away by a flood. This is very common when people experience love for the first time -- it can be overwhelming. The biggest thing the song and the play have in common is that they're both about how falling in love, particularly for the first time, can make you feel like you're not in control. "Shall I stay, would it be a sin ..." Romeo and Juliet know their families wouldn't approve. But they can't stop wondering what could be wrong about the way they feel about one another. These are three examples of how the play and the song relate in theme and meaning; you can think of more. A (pretty bad) couplet that might work in a poem relating the song and the play could be: "How can people tell me that I shouldn't be with you When everything I feel inside is wonderful and new?"
Luna's stealing my thunder
haha
did you need anything else @fredloser ?
