15/9

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@marissalovescats i have this same question but my choices are: A. 4/5 B. 5/3 C. 3/5 D. x/z

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

do you have that same triangle? and want to know what sec theta is?

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Secant is the inverse of what?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

cosecant

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Good cosecant is COH which is opposite over hypotenuse making secant be hypotenuse/opposite. So what would sec theta be?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

its either B or C but idk which one

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Oops I meant cosine is CAH adjecent/hypotenuse lol So secant is the hypotenuse side/adjacent side So the hypotenuse is 15 and the adjacent to theta is 9. So 15/9 simplifies to what?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

3/5?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

no 5/3

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Yes 5/3. 3/5 would be cos theta so 5/3 is sec theta

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

yay! thank you so much for your help :)
