Which of the following is not a good approximation? A. 2 pints = 1 liter B. 40 kilometers = 25 miles C. 0.6 cups = 230 milimeters D. 2,250 grams = 5 pounds Please help ASAP ! Thanks (:

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

hmm... 1 pound = 453 grams so, okay for 5 pounds. 1km = 1.6 miles, so, 40 kilometers = 25 miles - does that seem okay to you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahh yes ! Thanks (:

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

What thanks? ythat is NOT the answer.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

so, is that okay to you? if, 1mile = 1.6 km, then are 25miles approx. the same as 40km?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok , thats sounds good ...

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

good means okay to you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it sounds ok ....

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yes good. 1 pint = about half a liter. so two pints?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one quart ?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

lol, where does a quart come into this? i said 1 pint = half of a liter. 2 pint = 2 times half liter. what does two halves add upto?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 whole , lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 1 pint = 1 liter ?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

1 whole liter so - that's right - option A is clean then? now now..

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

no!!! 1 pint = 1/2 liter!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohkayy thanks i'll write that down .

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

now, one cup = 150 ml (genrally) so, can 0.6, 3/5 of a cup , that os 0.6 x 150 --> is that anywhere near 230 ml?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 90 on the calculator

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

so, is that the same? nope.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

so, what do you think would the answer be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dude you friggin confused me man I'm like lost @_@

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^ EXACTLY

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yolo ~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok apoor this could be easily answered!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^ lease help @mud116 lol

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

ofcourse - just post the answer, right? lol, you folks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yolo doe ~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I aint posting the answer here use this site it is a UNIVERSAL converter http://www.onlineconversion.com/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh well thanks for the converter (y)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

@xoxosweetx3 you can unfan me, take back all the medals, - I don't care. But, am not gonna give you straight answers. If you think you're a dumb blond, am gonna change your hair color, but am not giving straight answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob I use conventional weapons to beat math!

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

I wonder is she will have access to the universal converter during the exam?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

This is so stupid - a fifth grader can do this, and you need a calculator for this? man man..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But apoor is right in his reasoning sooner or l8ter you will have to learn how to do. Apoor was just trying to help and for that I reward his willingness to help you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I apreciate him for that and im going to take summer classes and start up regular school again next year ! I started homeschooling this year and excuse my french , but its crappy ! I hate it >.>

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

@xoxosweetx3 the problem is your fear of math - math is as simple as eating a lollipop if you don't fear it - try trying c'mon!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I h8 math i jsut do for some reason the thought of numbers and letter being together makes me sad :'(

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

I understand that @xoxosweetx3 , but don't give up. and @mud116 - thanks :)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Lol @mud116

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well thanks everyone but i g2g now , thanks @apoorvk and @mud116 (: Bye guisee (y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol soon they'll have whole words x + y + 5 + lollipop = xy5 = I ate the lollipop

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see ya sweet

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Hahahhaaaa!!!

OpenStudy (apoorvk):
