To which graph does the point (–1, 3) belong.

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Where is the graphs ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it didnt give me a graph that why i dont understand it just gave me y > 2x + 6 y > 3x – 1 y > –x + 2 y > –2x + 5

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

For each inequality, plug in x = -1 and y = 3 and see if it results in a true inequality

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

For example, y > 2x + 6 3 > 2(-1) + 6 3 > -2 + 6 3 > 4 ... which is false So (-1,3) is NOT a solution to y > 2x+6

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Do the same for the rest of the inequalities.

kay thanks

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
