OpenStudy (roku):

why is it that we cant live on the other planets that are furthur away from the sun? what are the reasons that scientists give.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Too cold

OpenStudy (roku):

couldnt they just generate some carbon dioxide out there then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if there were an earth out there, that had a bretheable atmosphere and all the the things need for humans, life still would be possible because the planet would not be warm enough the planet would freeze over essentially, even 5% father away from the sun and life would slowly die out, only the hardiest of organisms would survive if any.

OpenStudy (roku):

lol.... oh kool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 5 - 15% farther away, but 5% closer and the earth would burn.

OpenStudy (blues):

And it's not so easy to just snap their fingers and generate carbon dioxide on a world without gasses in it already. And gas is a relatively high energy state of matter - it would be too cold for most things which are gasses on earth to exist. Even if they could make CO2, it would probably exist in a frozen solid chunk.

OpenStudy (roku):

thanks guys. i was just wondering about it anyway
