On the first one: Getting started, how did you find the answer to Exercise #2?

The question is Use IDLE to calculate the Positive root of the following equation:
34*x^2 + 68*x - 510
Recall:
a*x^2 + b*x + c
x1 = ( - b + sqrt ( b*b - 4*a*c ) ) / ( 2*a)

I don't know how to code this so I don't have a code to attach.

Since you end up having to find the square root of a negative number you need to use the cmath library that can handle complex numbers.

I attached a program that does this.

That's not quite correct since the minus cancel out in the root so the solution will be real for this particular problem
