What is the solution set of |4x – 3|+ 2 > 11? x > –1.5 or x > 3 x < 1.5 or x > 3 x < –3 or x > 3 x < –1.5 or x > 3

i am sure .sam will give a good explanation, but before you even start you should know that the solution to \(|\text{something}|>\text{junk}\) will be TWO INTERVALS looking like \[x<a\] or \[x>b\]

sam (.sam.):

|4x – 3|+ 2 > 11 Substract 2 to both sides |4x – 3| > 9 Set it (4x – 3)> 9 AND (4x-3)<-9 Then solve for x
