The guage of an oil tank indicated that it was 1/7 full. After 240 gallons were added, the guage indicated that the tank was now 4/7 full. How many gallons does the tank hold? (Assuming that the guage is accurate)

bahah, obviously. but why subtract.
cuzz that will equal a full tank
3/7+4/7 will be a full tank
ohh i gotcha.
so, it takes 560 gallons to fill the entire tank?
