simplify 45y ÷ 5y/6

sam (.sam.):

Convert the multiple level fraction to a set of regular fractions by multiplying by the reciprocal of the denominator. (9)/(6) Reduce the expression (9)/(6) by removing a factor of 3 from the numerator and denominator. (3)/(2)

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\Large \color{MidnightBlue}{\Rightarrow {9 \over 6} }\) \(\Large \color{MidnightBlue}{\Rightarrow {3 \over 2} }\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i dont get how you got that though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 9/6 ???

Parth (parthkohli):

I got it by dividing 54y and 9y.

Parth (parthkohli):

And the denominator was already there.

sam (.sam.):

45 divide 5=9 then 9/6 9/6=3/2

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\Large \color{MidnightBlue}{\Rightarrow {45y \div 5y \over6} = {9 \over 6} }\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh i ge tittt

Parth (parthkohli):

The numerator was \(45y \div 5y\), so I divided them to get a simplified numerator.

thanks guys :)

Parth (parthkohli):
