Does anyone know how to predict prices of products in the future? I have a maths assessment and it is about percentage. I have to calculate the percentage of the given products and write a report about the prediction of prices of those products in the future. Can you guys please help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to do that but my teacher told me that we have to add all of the calculated percentage and divide by 2; the result is the prediction. I don't understand what she said. Do u know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you post it, so I can figure out the concept?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hv all of the calculation but i just dunno how to predict the prices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because in the table, the increase and decrease prices already calculated each year. -> There's not much to do, except find the average by get sum, ( negative and positive value ), then divide by 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Briefly, the idea is use average as estimation for the price!

i got it thx :) but how to find the decrease/increase in each years? i hv to find the prices for the next 3yrs i.e. 2012-2013, 2013-2014, and 2014-2015. Is it to divide the half average that is found by 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The last column is % -> calculate on the last column only :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just careful when you see decrease, for example: Increase 20 %, decrease 14.10% = 20 - 14.10 = ...%

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

this is like a moving average im guessing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dumbcow so m i correct doing like this?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

sorry, im not sure exactly what you are supposed to do i was just guessing...predicting/forecasting is tricky work because mainly its just educated guesses based on previous observation
