is my answer correct The slant height of a pyramid is 46 ft. The base is a square with a side length of 24 ft. What is the height of the pyramid?47.54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slant height should be greater than the height i m not sure but it may be sqrt(1828)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you double check? @suzy4321

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the im confused im doing 46^2 and 12^2 what shd i be doing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dplanc same i have said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

46^2 -2(12^2) (consider the diagonal of the square base)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

@suzy4321 , you are correct, just subtract them \[h = \sqrt{46^{2} -12^{2}}\]

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

@matricked , the slant height normally refers to length from top to midpoint of base edge not too corner so you don't have to worry about the diagonal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@matricked , sorry man... my bad....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dumbcow may be for that i was not sure.... thanx
